Meet Ms. Princess. Kylie is such a girlie girl and I LOVE it! There are many days when she will get all dolled up. It’s so stinkin cute.
Here is she is pointing to herself and telling the cat that her name is Kylie. She said, “Hi, I Kylie.” She started doing that the day before at Wal-mart. She was sitting in the cart and I had just put a couple of gallons of milk in beside her. She looks at the milk and says (pointing to herself), “Hi milk, I Kylie!” I about died.
I had the best weekend you guys. It all started earlier in the week when I decided to break out my sewing machine and make a quick blanket for Kylie. I found this adorable lady bug fleece at Wal-mart, so last Wednesday I whipped one up. It felt sooo good to sew again. I’ve missed doing it ever since I had to stop because of my back surgery. I’m so excited to make more blankets.
Jordan gave us some apples off their apple tree, so I decided to can some apple pie filling. My recipe called for some apple juice, but I didn’t realize till after I had made it that I had bought apple juice punch blend. So we’ll see how gross or good my apple pies turn out!
Last Friday, my friend who sells Mary Kay invited me to come to a Mary Kay party at the mall. I invited Wendy and Ashley to come along. They were going to have Olive Garden dinner for us and then we were going to get our eyebrows waxed and a facial and makeover. Dinner was great and the facial and makeover was a blast. I got so excited when Wendy decided to be a consultant! So if any of you need Mary Kay product, call Wendy! I also won some free eye shadow. Heck yes I'm good! Anyway, here is a before and after pic of our hot selves.

You can’t really tell, but I do look different!
On Saturday I went to get my hair done. Love it! Crystal Mitchell does such a great job. After I got my hair all beautified, Wendy, Ashley, Kylie and I headed over to Gardeners Village. I have never been here before, but I must say I have been missing out! They have all these little shops that are in these old houses and since it’s October, they had all their witches and pumpkins out. It was so much fun. We only got through like half the stores, so I’m excited to go back.

Well that’s about it. I am sooo looking forward to Halloween this year. Kylie is going to be Tinker Bell and she’s finally old enough to go trick or treating. That girl is going to score me some serious candy! Oh come on, like you aren’t going to eat your kids Halloween candy :) Happy October everyone!

Last Sunday we went up to Sundance to take some family pictures. Damian and Jenelle had asked us to take their family pics, so I figured we might as well take ours too. It was totally nuts up there. There were people EVERYWHERE taking pictures and it was like a race to see which person could get out of their car the fastest to stake the best spot. Anyway, here are a few of my favorite pictures.
This is my 4th or 6th great grandmother Sarah Goode Marshall (we are still trying to figure out how many “greats” she is to me). She, along with her 6 children came 1,400 miles across the plains and arrived in Salt Lake City in 1856. She was one of the first handcart companies to arrive.

I can’t express the feeling I got when he arrived at This is The Place pulling his handcart. It must be close to the same feelings that Brigham Young and the other saints who were already in Salt Lake felt when they watched all these faithful saints arriving at last. So many of the pioneers lost everything – their family, their friends but they still came. Lynn talked about after the first 3 weeks, he felt like he couldn’t make it anymore. But then he remembered the motto that he put on his handcart - “Faith Greater than Pain” and he said it helped him to continue on. We often wonder how the saints did it…and it was because their faith was greater than their pain. They believed in this gospel and they would do anything to follow the promptings of the spirit. I am so grateful for Lynn and his desire to do this. It has given me a greater testimony of the importance of family history because it actually became real for me. Here were several generations of us all gathered together on Saturday and it was amazing! I am thankful for the example my great grandmother was and for her desire to join this church. Who knows where I would be without her faith and determination to do what was right. Here are some pictures from our trip and also a couple of newscast videos :)
