Kylie’s First Dentist Apt

So Kylie had her very first dentist appointment yesterday.  She did so great!  She just sat in her chair and let the hygienist clean all her cute teeth.  I was so happy to hear that her teeth are all looking good and there are no problems.  Here are a few pics:

If anyone is ever looking for a great dentist, Dr. Bruce Murdock in AF is AWESOME.  He will sit there and answer any questions you may have and he is just all around a great dentist.  Anyway, I was so glad she cooperated through the whole thing.  Now if she would only stop screaming when she has to see the doctor…

A visit from Shane

Well, to start off August, we had a short, but nice visit with my brother Shane. Shane has been in Texas for the last several months doing his tech school for the military. He is going to be living back East for the next 3 years, so I’m glad he stopped by to visit. I made up some French Toast, Zucchini Chocolate chip muffins, and bacon for everyone. Shane stayed for about 3 hours before he had to leave. Kylie warmed up to him really fast. At one point she dragged him into her room so they could play with her blocks in her tent. My Grandma Farber got Kylie this lady bug tent for her birthday. It is sooo adorable and Kylie loves it. Anyway, here are some pics of me and my siblings.

Love you Shane! We will miss you!

Austin’s Birthday

On July 31st, my sweet husband turned 29…he’s getting old!  We had family over for cake and ice-cream.  This year I made a mountain cake for Austin.  It turned out really good, but of course I spaced it and didn’t get a picture of it.  Oh well.  All in all, I he had a good time and I know he loved all the gifts.

The guy loves Pink Floyd :)  Now he can wear a shirt that expresses his undying love for it…

My family came to visit!

It was so much fun to have my family come to see us for 6 days.  We got back from Canada on Monday July 20th and the next day, my mom flew out to be with the rest of the gang.  Our house was really full, but it was so much fun :)  Wednesday afternoon we had my brother and his wife over for lunch.  I love spending time with my family :)  It was a blast.  That night Austin and I took Brenna, my dad and grandpa shooting.  I think they all had a good time.  I know I did!  I wish I could have gotten a video of Brenna when she went to shoot Austin’s shotgun.  She nearly fell over!  Here are some pics:

On Thursday I went shopping with my mom and Brenna.  Brenna got some new clothes for school (she’s in junior high this year!) and I get almost teary eyed thinking about it because I have missed so much of her life.  I would give anything to be able to go shopping with her whenever she wanted and talk about her little boy crushes (Brenna, that better not be for at least 10 more years!) and just being a big sister to her.  I really miss you Brenna!

That night we all went to see Harry Potter…even my Grandpa went!  He had no idea who Harry Potter was and at the end of the movie he said, “Boy, I’m glad that’s over” but it was so much fun to all go together.  I loved that movie!

On Friday I decided to get my dad and grandpa and Brenna out of the house and go hiking to Stewart Falls.  I really should have picked an easier hike.  I keep forgetting that the air is a lot thinner out here and I guess I forgot that it really isn’t a easy hike for those who don’t hike very much.  My Grandpa kept asking if we were there yet and at one point I really felt bad for bringing them!  My grandpa had a hard time with it.  I think he did alright getting to the falls, but coming back was a different story.  At least he was in a good mood though.  At one point he sat down to rest and this fly was on his arm and he said, “Get off me fly, I’m’ not dead yet.”  I about peed my pants.  I love my Grandpa :)

When we finally got back to the car, everyone just kind of crashed in the seats.  So much for my idea of a good time!  Jk.

That night, being the 24th of July, we went to Spanish Forks to see their fireworks.  I have never been to their fireworks before, but they were AMAZING!  Honestly, so much better than Thanksgiving Point’s fireworks on the 4th.  Grandpa stayed at home to sleep, since I had nearly killed him earlier that morning :)  We had a lot of fun….well, except Kylie.  She was absolutely petrified of the fireworks and refused to watch them.  Silly kid.

On Saturday we had lunch at Howard and Wendy’s house.  We swam in the pool and just enjoyed relaxing.  Then on Sunday at 5:00 in the morning my family drove back to Illinois :(  I was so sad to see them go.  Kylie kept asking for Brenna for the next couple of days after that.  She missed her Aunt.  Thanks again for coming to see us!  Y’all come back now real soon!

What a month!

To say that July went by fast is an understatement…it went by warp speed!  We had the 4th of July, then Kylie’s birthday, then we went to Canada, and then my family came to visit.  It was a jam packed month, but one that I would do again in a heartbeat.  I just now downloaded the rest of Austin’s pictures from his camera and my camera, so let’s continue with this overload of pictures :)

Here are a few cute pics of my two favorite people in the world from our Canada trip

On our way back to Utah, we stopped in Rexburg, ID to visit BYU-Idaho.  I went there from 2000 to 2002.  I absolutely loved it there.  It brought back so many memories.  It has changed  A LOT though.  For instance, the apartment that I lived in the whole time there is now Men’s housing.  Also, the Spori building that burned down years ago was just a construction site the whole time I was there.  Now it’s this beautiful building.  They were remodeling/building more buildings.  I almost didn’t recognize some parts of the campus.  It was soo good to be back though :)

Here is my apt :)  Number 308 on top.  It’s the one with all the paper on the door.

Ok, this was the BEST place for pizza.  It was such a dump when i went there, but the food was amazing.061

We met up with my dad, grandpa, and my sister Brenna at my Great-Aunt Beverly’s house in Rigby, ID.  Its like 15 minutes away from Rexburg, and it was here that I spent a lot of time at when I was in college :)  My Uncle Ray and Aunt Beverly were always kind enough to feed me dinner and let me come over and study if my roommates were being too wild.  We had lunch here before we drove the rest of the way home.

My great Aunts:  Mary, Beverly, and Mary’s granddaughter, Mary-Frances

So Kylie has not seen Brenna since last Thanksgiving, but that didn’t stop her from instantly latching on to her from the moment she saw her :)  Brenna was her little buddy.
