New York here we come!!!!!

So Austin and Kylie and I are going to be going on a little family vacation to New York in 3 weeks!!! I am sooo excited! Austin has another business meeting in Connecticut and he was like, "Why don't we go out there a few days before my meetings and go to New York?" Of course I was totally for it! Our plan is to leave in 3 weeks and stay in New York and see the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, The Museum of Natural History, Central Park, Ground Zero, and Times Square. Then one of those days we are going to drive to upstate New York and see Palmyra, the Hill Cumorah, and Niagara Falls. It will be a jam packed week, but one that will be very memorable. If anyone has been before and knows of some other cool places to go, please let me know since neither Austin or I have been there :) Hope you all have a great weekend coming up! I will be dragging Austin all around Utah Valley to see the Parade of Homes. You're the best hon!!!

American Idol barbeques rat poop in Primary

Pretty interesting title most of you might say, but it pretty much wraps up my weekend.  On Friday we had our good friends Kali and JR and Brooke and Brady (and don't forget their adorable kids!) over for a barbeque.  It was extremely yummy food (thanks again you guys!) and it was just fun to hang out.  On Saturday morning I bought the coolest thing ever...AMERICAN IDOL TOUR TICKETS!!!  I'm sure most of you think that this was a stupid purchase, but I am stoked to go see them on July 14 at the E Center.  I was able to buy tickets on the floor so I will be seeing my favorite American Idol contestants up close and personal :)  Austin did not seem all that thrilled to go with me, so I'm going to go with someone who appreciates the tickets...and that is Wendy, Austin's mom :)  I'm so excited to go with her and be surrounded by 10,000 screaming teeny boppers.

Saturday afternoon me, Austin, Kylie, and Jordan and Ashley took a trip down south to go to a vertical cave.  It was awesome!!!  My legs got quite the workout though, as well as my arms because I was gripping the rope so dang tight.  When we got up there we ate lunch and then got ready for our descent down.  The cave itself is about 90 ft deep, but it's not completely straight down.  There's a lot of places where you can stand and then head on down farther.  There was rat poop EVERYWHERE which was disgusting because it was like I never could find enough clean places to put my hands as I was crawling around down there.  There were a few ladders and we also found a really old bottle of soda water.  It had black gunk inside which was sick, but still cool :)  Anyway here are some pics of that excursion.IMG_5137

On Sunday I got set apart as the second counselor in Primary!  Yeah!  I'm excited and nervous at the same time.  I really like the women that are in the presidency and I am looking forward to being able to teach the kids in our ward.  I guess the only thing I am nervous about is doing sharing time once a month.  But I'm sure I will do just fine :)  Anyway, it was a busy weekend, but it was so much fun.

Pictures

Thought everyone would like to see some cute pics of Kylie. She has changed sooo much lately. She started crawling about 2 weeks ago. It's funny how one day they can't do something and the next day they can. She had gotten pretty good at army crawling, but she has since advanced to crawling on her hands and knees. Even though I was ecstatic to see her crawl, she is now into EVERYTHING! Lol. She loves going over to my nightstand and pulling out all my lotions I have underneath it. She also loves getting into our potted plant I have on the floor and eating the dirt. Oh well, a little dirt is good for ya! She also has her top two front teeth. She has a gap between them which looks really funny but adorable at the same time. Anyway, not much new in the Mills family. Well, I guess there is some good news. My brother Damian is getting married in August :) Yeah! His girlfriend Jenelle is so sweet and we are looking forward to having her in our family. Congrats Damian! Hope all of you are having a good week and enjoy that weather this weekend!

Moab

This past weekend we took a family trip down to Moab. It was a much needed vacation and it so nice to get out and get some exercise and see some really cool arches (oh, and it was nice to be in 70 to 80 degree weather). We went with Howard and Wendy and Jordan and Ashley. We got there Friday night and looked EVERYWHERE for a place to camp. After searching for about 45 minutes, we ended up staying at a campsite that really wasn't a designated one. We kind of took the liberty of making the spot our very own :) It was right by the road (not fun when trying to go to sleep at night), but all in all it was a great spot. That night Howard and Wendy took us out to eat at this Mexican restaurant. It was muy bueno! I drank WAY too much soda and spent most of the night peeing in the bushes. The next day we hiked to Delicate Arch. It was awesome! I have never seen it before and I must say it was quite impressive. We also went to Eye of the Wale Arch and Balanced Rock. It was sunny off and on that day, but we all still managed to get a sunburn. We tried to make it to Tower Arch, but the road we took to get there was really rocky and at one point we had to turn back because there was no way we were going to be able to get the suburban the rest of the way. We did a lot of hiking that day, so we were all looking forward to a good nights sleep that night. Before we all hit the hay, we ate beef stew and french bread (thanks Jordan and Ashley!). Then we made a fire and sat around talking. It was a lot of fun that night. Kylie went right to bed, and slept through the night both nights we were there. She is such a good baby! On Sunday Austin made us pancakes and sausage and eggs. It was soooo good. We cleaned up camp and then went to the Windows arch and spent some time there. Then we decided to make the Sand Dune Arch our final stop before we left to go home. I think this may be one of my favorite arches. It takes like 3 minutes to get to it and it is surrounded by the softest sand. Kylie loved it :) We went home after that and I must say I was really sad to go. We made it all the way to Springville when we blew out the front tire on the Suburban. Thanks to Jordan's impressive driving skills, we made it over to the shoulder of the road and the boys were able to change the tire. Anyway, that was our trip! I am looking forward to going back soon.
