How I love my little Kylie

I took a few pics of Kylie yesterday and today and thought I would share them with everyone.  She is such a fun little girl and I can't believe that she is almost 15 months.  She is cutting 5 teeth right now (poor kid) but doesn't seem to let on that they bother her.  She is our constant comic relief and our source of entertainment...she loves to dance and will bust a move as soon as she hears a song playing.  She is a mischievous little booger and will keep doing what you tell her to stop doing.  She loves to give hugs and on those days when she doesn't want to, all you have to do is fake cry and she will run right over on her fat little legs and give you the biggest hug.  She will be the best big sister and I know that I am constantly talking about her in my blog, but I love her to death.

She found her binki a few weeks ago.  She was never a fan of it before, but now she will sometimes parade around the house for an hour with it in her mouth.

Goodbye rock pile...I always hated you

On Saturday my friend Stephanie and her husband Doug came over to do us a HUGE favor....they helped us get rid of our rock pile!!!!  So after we moved into our house a year and a half ago, all these rocks were in our yard (and then some) as we were digging it up to put our sprinkler system in.  So they've just been sitting there and sitting there until one glorious day when Doug said he would help us get rid of it.  Thanks sooo much you guys!  I should have taken a picture of all the rocks that were in Doug's trailer, because it was unbelievable.   I guess when they went to dump it, the trailer wouldn't even lift up.  They finally got it to lift, but it took some effort.  Austin and Doug figured there were about 6 tons of rocks.  Anyway, after we filled in the hole it made, I was amazed at how much of my lawn it had taken up.  So now we were going to put some grass in and it's going to look wonderful!

Sorry if that bored you.  I am just so excited to finally have grass there.  Here are some pictures of Kylie to wake you up in case you fell asleep...

The Beautiful Uintas

Yesterday Austin took a day off of work and we headed up to the Uintas.  Oh my gosh, such a beautiful place.  It was such a great day and we thought it might rain on us, but it just thundered and then 5 minutes later as we were leaving to go home it started pouring.  I am so grateful that we were able to have some nice weather as we enjoyed our hike.  We walked for about 5 miles and we saw probably 15 lakes.  It was incredible.  We saw a few wildlife too.  My favorite was this woodpecker.  He let us get REALLY close to him as he was banging his poor little head against a tree (seriously, can we say headache!).  He was a cute little feller.  We saw a deer too, but we scared it away.  Kylie was such a good hiker.  She loved jabbering the whole time and patting Austin on the arm every once in a while :)  Austin turned around one time and I don't know where she had gotten it, but she had this huge piece of grass sticking out of her mouth.  That kid...We couldn't have asked for a better day.

Blast from the past

So one of my favorite roommates from Ricks College came down with her husband and baby to visit Utah this past week. It was so good to see Heather and her cute little boy Andrew :) They came over Thursday night and had dinner with us and then we played video games afterwards :) Nothing like busting out the 'ol Nintendo 64 for some entertainment! On Friday Kylie and I went with them up to SLC. It was so much fun to see the sites again. We went to the church history museum and temple square. We ate at the Lion House (good food but WAY overpriced) and then went to the Conference Center and got a super fast tour. The whole reason we wanted to do the tour was because we wanted to go on the roof. But when we got there they informed us that there was a meeting that was going to start in 15 minutes, so the lady showed us the tour on warp speed. It was still fun to finally go on the roof of the conference center. It was also fun to be in the conference center when it was empty. It is a HUGE room. Our last stop was the visitor center. We went up to see the big statue of Christ and as we are sitting there and everyone is quiet as they start playing the thing over the speakers, Kylie starts jabbering like INSANELY loud. It was suppose to be this reverent sort of presentation and she's just a talking away. I had to shove some Cheerios in her mouth so she would be quiet. It was embarrassing to say the least. Anyway, I had such a fun time with you Heather! Thanks again for coming to see me!

My spoils

So I had to share with everyone what I got at the Dollar Tree today and at K-mart. So if anyone is looking for really cute Halloween things, go to the Dollar Tree in Orem on State St next to K-mart. It is FABULOUS! I mean seriously, I got some way cute stuff and a lot of it looks like something I could have gotten at Tai Pan or something. And I got the cutest pair of shoes today at K-mart for $6. They are pink and wonderful :) Anyway, just thought I would let you all know about the ghoulish items at the Dollar Tree and the sweet sale on shoes. :)

I've put this off long enough...

Sorry it's taken so long to post anything. For some reason I always dread updating my blog after I haven't done it for a while. I feel like I end up spending over an hour trying to catch everyone up on things. So sorry for the delay :)

So I was in Illinois for 2 weeks visiting my family and also going to my brother's wedding. He got married in the Nauvoo Temple on August 22nd. It was so awesome to be back in the temple with my family. It was also a special time for me and Austin because we were able to look back and remember our wedding day and the promises that we made to each other. It was VERY hot that day. It's funny because I expected to come home to over 100 degree weather and have to deal with the blasted humidity, but it was soo nice at home - except for like the wedding day and a few days after. We thought it was going to rain that day, but it ended up being really nice. Jenelle looked beautiful and I think Austin took some AMAZING pictures.

The first picture on my post is of little Kylie bug after she whacked her head on my bed. It made the hugest goose egg and I was certain it would look horrible for the wedding. But it ended up healing really fast. Kylie was such a good girl on this trip. My family had a lot of fun entertaining her (and I enjoyed the break). I really wish we lived closer. My brother Shane got to come home for the wedding. It's a rare occasion when the whole family gets together. I really miss you guys!

It was a lot of fun to hang out with my little sister. We went bike riding and we rented girly movies. My mom and dad and two brothers and sister went to Six Flags in St. Louis. It rained like the first hour we were there. Luckily we were in the water park. There were not a lot of people there that day, so we didn't have to wait in long lines. I must be getting old like my dad because all the rides gave me a headache (its kind of an inside joke with my siblings because my dad would hardly go on any of the rides because it gave him a headache...or sometimes he hadn't even rode the ride before but he said it would give him a headache) :) Love ya dad! All in all it was a great trip.

Oh, and before I forget...KYLIE IS WALKING!!! She has finally decided she can get around faster if she walks. She's also getting her 6th tooth (a molar) and has started to mimic me on various things (last week I was cleaning the bathroom and she picked up a rag and started wiping down the door). I love that kid so much.

I hope you all enjoy the last few weeks of summer. I can't believe how fast it has flown by. Hope you all have a good week!
